I read The Spear by Louis de Wohl. I looked him up in Current Biography, found his address in England, and wrote him a letter. I asked him Why he had written "The Spear" and what advice h e might offer to a young person with aspirations to write. Much to my joy he responded with a lengthy, h and-written letter in purple ink. He told me that he had been in London during the blitz and promised God that if he lived through the war, he would write to be pleasing to God. He also recommended that a young person interested in writing should read a wide variety of works. It was a thrilling experience.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
